In one corner of the campus stands a Campus Weather Station, an important platform for the school to carry out meteorological science education and scientific practice. Equipped with a variety of professional meteorological instruments, this weather station can real-time monitor and record multiple meteorological data.
Inside the weather station, an anemometer and wind vane measure the speed and direction of air flow, transmitting data to the control system. The temperature and humidity sensors in the Stevenson screen avoid direct sunlight and ground radiation interference to obtain accurate air temperature and humidity. The rainfall sensor uses a tipping bucket structure to record precipitation in millimeters.
During their spare time, under the guidance of teachers, students can participate in observing and recording meteorological data. Through long-term practice, students can intuitively understand the changing laws of meteorological elements and master basic methods and skills of meteorological observation. In the process of analyzing data, their logical thinking and data analysis abilities are cultivated. The school also regularly holds meteorological knowledge lectures and themed activities, explaining the formation principles of weather phenomena, the impacts of climate change, and other knowledge by combining with the data obtained from the weather station, so as to stimulate students' interest in meteorological science.
